Jackson Law clients from Florida and the Carolinas attended the H-2A employer seminar held on December 14, 2012, at Sampson Community College in Clinton, NC.  Among the topics discussed were H-2A employer record keeping requirements, E-Verify, and the impact of Obamacare.  The shared employer responsibility provisions of § 4980H were covered in light of IRS guidance on interpreting what is a "seasonal employee".

Attendees also watched a short video (14 minutes) on federal income taxation of H-2A workers.  H-2A employers are encouraged to show this to arriving H-2A workers in 2013.  The video was published on Youtube by the Northwest Justice Project in both English and Spanish.  Click here to watch.
